About the Project

While at the Detroit Economic Growth Corporation, acting through the City of Detroit Downtown Development Authority, GWJ PRINCIPLES performed the deal structuring and coordinated with other development partners to attract, secure, and package various local and state grants and financing to support the Catalyst Development District (now known as “District Detroit”).

District Detroit is a sports and entertainment district Downtown including an arena that can accommodate Red Wings hockey games, as well as other sports and entertainment events year-round. New residential, retail, and office developments were also built in the approximate 45-block area that reaches from Grand Circus Park to Charlotte St. between Woodward Ave. and Grand River Ave.
